PROPERTY TAXES

This last revaluation in Alamance County was a disaster. Homeowners took the increase and large businesses recieved thousands of dollars in reduced property taxes. Some examples of this appeared in the Alamance News showing big box stores were revalued improperly resulting in thousands of dollars in decreased tax revenue. The homeowners had to make up for these lost revenues. I am the Taxpayer who found these errors and if elected as your County Commissioner this will be one of my top priorities to get corrected. These errors have been made for many years and I would speculate millions of tax revenues have been lost.

EDUCATION

Our public schools are in dire need of repair. The average age of our buildings are 56 years old. Our public schools have and are still dealing with the loss of learning as a result of the pandemic. Our grades are down because of fatherless homes, illegal immigration, and huge numbers of discipline problems. Our teachers do not feel safe anymore and are leaving the profession by the thousands nationwide. Having pointed this out my job as a County Commissioner is to make sure our buildings are in good repair and safe for faculty, staff, and most of all our students. This is a requirement by our state legislature. A County Commissioner with a good business background can get the job done by putting the needs first and the wants last in the entire county. I will have no sacred cows. Elect me and we will take care of our needs first and stop wasteful spending. This business plan will avoid tax increases and I will not let politics enter my decisions.

LAW ENFORCEMENT

I have always supported law enforcement that is proactive not reactive. We must always seek to be proactive this reduces crime and lowers the cost for the taxpayers. Our county is safer when we patrol our high crime areas constantly by letting the criminals know that we are there 24/7.
